Formed in 2004 by guitarist CF Picot with the collaboration of multi-instrumentist Denis Ferland, Atreal is born from a desire to create and share music that is unique and engaging.

 

With five excellent musicians on board as well as occasional guest musicians, Atreal took the stage for the first time in 2004. The well known poet and singer-songwriter Fredric Gary Comeau then joined the young group to add a special texture to the project with his talented writing and his profound voice.

 

With the success and enthusiasm generated by the first shows, Atreal's musicians entered the studio soon after to record Esplanade e.p. in 2005. The result : an encompassing atmospheric ambient rock sound, instrumental improvisations and two texts written and sung by Comeau... certain to capture the listener into a musical parallel universe.

 

Launched in winter 2008/2009, Atreal's first full length album, "Hiver nordique", is also gaining success. In fact, the title track of this album has rapidly reached the #1 position on the charts of Montreal's CIBL FM radio station in January 2009! The first single, "Ryoan-ji" - a song that suggests going back to what is essential and simple in life - as well as many other songs of this new album are playing in several radio stations across Canada and the French-speaking world.

 

Atreal is now striving to share its music trough several shows in all types of venues in Quebec, Ontario, Eastern Canada, Europe and Asia.
